Ryan Willis

Christmas is nearly upon us, and what better way to celebrate than with a rundown of 2018’s best Christmas window displays. From streetside karaoke to giant Christmas dinners, here are our favourites from this year’s festive season.

A miniature recreation of the Galeries’ famous Big Dome is the background for this year’s display at Paris’ high-end department store. Collaborating with the Swiss luxury brand, Piaget, the display is packed with toys, presents, seasonal accessories, and clothing – invoking Nutcracker levels of beauty, colour, intricacy, and fun.

Harrods has long been famous for its extravagant displays, and this year is no exception. Titled ‘Fantastica’, the store-wide window display features festive Victoriana and a larger-than-life celebration of the store’s famous Food Hall, including a gigantic Christmas dinner and oversized sweets.

Fortnum & Mason

Harrods aren’t the only ones celebrating Christmas with giant food this year. Fortnum and Mason are paying tribute to their world-famous hampers with a series of window displays featuring huge teapots, piles of candy, a sleigh made of mince pies and a Christmas pudding filled with gold.

If 2018 Christmas window displays are all about the battle between futuristic tech and Victorian charm, Liberty’s display falls very much in the latter camp. This year, the London department store has filled its windows with beautiful 2D illustrations in black and white. Elegant, classic and iconic – just like the shop itself.

Ahead of the game when it comes to customer experience, Bloomingdale’s’ futuristic 2018 Christmas display features everything from street karaoke to interactive displays. Inspired by the release of the new Grinch film, the displays are intended to represent Whoville as if it were a real neighbourhood in the Big Apple.

Harvey Nichols

If Harvey Nicks is all about glamour, then its Christmas window display is definitely on brand. Dressed in a non-traditional lime green, the eye-catching window display features a huge bottle of champagne pouring gold and silver glitter along the entirety of the shopfront.

Very nice and a little bit naughty, Selfridges is bringing fun to its windows this year with a cheeky rock’n’roll Santa-themed display. Apparently taking 100 staff over a week to put together, the collective displays feature 200 Christmas trees and 85,000 baubles.

As you can see, creating the perfect window display can have your customers talking about you all the way into the new year. Have you spotted any Christmas window displays that have taken your breath away? We’d love to hear about them over on Facebook and Twitter.
